Submission Guidelines for Contributors to Studies in Photography
Types of Articles
We offer the opportunity to submit an idea for a full-length article or a review. A full-length article may cover historic or contemporary photographers and a (shorter) review may cover exhibitions or books, similarly, on topics of historic or contemporary photography. The Journal is published twice yearly usually in the summer and winter.

 A full-length article should be 2000-3000 words in length, with a balance between text and images.
 A review article should be between 500-1000 words in length, offering a selection of images from the publication or exhibition
 Please note that you will be responsible for submitting written permissions to
reproduce in print and digital formats any copyrighted images.
Initial Submission of Summary of Article Idea
Initially, please submit a short (up to one typed page) description of your idea for
consideration for publication by the Studies Editorial Team, including a suggested title and approximate number of images. Please also include a copy of your CV using the form below.
The Editorial Team will then contact you within a reasonable timeframe as to whether your idea is accepted and give you a submission deadline.
