Studies Editions is an online sale of contemporary photographic prints by leading photographers associated with Studies in Photography and prints from rediscovered historic negatives.
For the first collection of Studies Editions 20 contemporary photographers have been selected comprised of both established and emerging artists. We are selling one editioned archival pigment print from each photographer.

We are also excited to have a set of 5 Hill & Adamson’s images available as a special edition, The Fishermen and Women of the Firth of Forth. The original negatives, made in the 1840s, are a beautiful example of the earliest documentary photography. This reinterpretation of Hill & Adamson’s work is based on negatives in the collections of Glasgow University and Scottish National Portrait Gallery, which have been digitised by expert Michael Gray and made into archival pigment prints. The prints come in a presentation folder which includes text written by Sara Stevenson, the world renowned Hill & Adamson scholar.

All contemporary print purchases will directly support the photographers. Studies in Photography is taking a small commission which is put straight back into the organisation, enabling further discourse on photography through the journal and organised lectures.
Whether you are an avid collector of photography, just starting a collection or simply want an outstanding photograph on your wall, Studies Editions will have something that catches your eye. Your print will arrive in a presentation box together with a hand signed Certificate of Authenticity. Our free tracked shipping service to UK addresses ensures there are no hidden costs.
